Metal is a genre of music that was derived mostly from blues and rock. It began in the late 60s and early 70s by bands such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. The music had more distortion and more of a chunky feel than rock. And what is harder than rock? Metal. With scorching double solos they would go back and forth from guitarist to guitarist. Many bands would introduce a harmony to give it a better feel and to mix up the music a bit. Most metal bands sing about politics, destruction and evil things, though just singing that does not mean you are a metal band. During the late 70s and early 80s metal picked up the speed of punk and created different genres like thrash metal, speed metal and crossover. In later years it evolved into different sub genres and different style tunings to give a new spin on the term.
What is the foundation and how does it relate to Metal?
The foundation relates to the music as much as why are these topics being written in a song form. Most of the blues was written to show how they are being treated and their feelings toward it. Metal was written for many reasons, to show what the government is doing and or to show what has happened to other people over time. They were pretty much the same topics only as time has changed they grew into more recent times.
Thesis
Metal is related to blues and the overall feel of it. It also relates to the foundation of it, by having syncopation, poly
rhythms, call and response and improvisation.

Lyrics:
Been dazed and confused for so long it's not true,
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Lots of people talk and few of them know,
Soul of a woman was created below. yeah!
You hurt and abused tellin' all of your lies,
Run around sweet baby, lord how they hypnotize.
Sweet little baby, I don't know where you've been,
Gonna love you baby, here I come again.
Every day I work so hard
Bringin' home my hard earned pay
Try to love you baby, but you push me away.
Don't know where you're goin'
Only know just where you've been,
Sweet little baby, I want you again.
Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true,
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Take it easy baby, let them say what they will.
Will your tongue wag so much when I send you the bill?

Song: Angel of Death
Lyrics:
Auschwitz, the meaning of pain
The way that I want you to die
Slow death, immense decay
Showers that cleanse you of your life
Forced in
Like cattle
You run
Stripped of
Your life's worth
Human mice, for the angel of death
Four hundred thousand more to die
Angel of death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Sadistic, surgeon of demise
Sadist of the noblest blood
Destroying, without mercy
To benefit the aryan race
Surgery, with no anesthesia
Feel the knife pierce you intensely
Inferior, no use to mankind
Strapped down screaming out to die
Angel of death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of death
Pumped with fluid, inside your brain
Pressure in your skull begins pushing through your eyes
Burning flesh, drips away
Test of heat burns your skin, your mind starts to boil
Frigid cold, cracks your limbs
How long can you last
In this frozen water burial?
Sewn together, joining heads
Just a matter of time
'til you rip yourselves apart
Millions laid out in their
Crowded tombs
Sickening ways to achieve
The holocaust
Seas of blood, bury life
Smell your death as it burns
Deep inside of you
Abacinate, eyes that bleed
Praying for the end of
Your wide awake nightmare
Wings of pain, reach out for you
His face of death staring down,
Your blood running cold
Injecting cells, dying eyes
Feeding on the screams of
The mutants he's creating
Pathetic harmless victims
Left to die
Rancid angel of death
Flying free
(leads: hanneman, king, hanneman, king, hanneman)
Angel of death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of death
Angel of death

Song: Tear it Down
Lyrics:
Fighting this society, there's only one way to win
We must stick together through all thick and thin
Cross over the line of your stubborn, closed mind
Don't be surprised at what you might find
Things you thought wrong may have always been right
You'll probably find fault in your reasons to fight
You really don't differ from what i can see
Ain't it time to unite, or is it just me?
Just as we watch them build this empire
So they shall watch us tear it down
If not with our words, then with the power of our sound!
Fighting this society, there's only one way to win
We must stick together through all thick and thin
Cross over the line of your stubborn, closed mind
Don't be surprised at what you might find
We are the future, so let's get things straight
Combine our forces before it's too late
Fighting ourselves can't go on any longer
We must fight together if we want to grow stronger
We can tear it down
We must tear it down
We will tear it down
